Fiber splicer.

Fusion splices and tests fibre in enclosures, splice trays and cabinets, indoors and outside plant.

A fibre splice tray in plan: buffer tubes enter, fibres loop round the tray and fibre 07 lands in slot 7 of the splice holder.

On a deployment.

Splicers join fibre with a fusion splicer, dress trays and closures, and test the result. Their work is mostly invisible and entirely critical. A poor splice is a fault that appears months later.

On data centre campus builds they splice building entry and inter-building routes. On outside plant they work in vaults, on poles and in vehicles.

What good looks like.

Preparation
Consistent low-loss splices with the trays dressed to the manufacturer diagram.
Judgment
OTDR traces saved and labelled per fibre, both directions.
Handover
Keeps closures sealed and documented so the next person can find their way.

Markets with the most demand.

Demand is spread across all six markets.

Questions about this role.

How quickly can you shortlist a fiber splicer?

Shortlists typically arrive within two working days of a complete brief. You get two to five masked scorecards, each with a note from the recruiter. If the site needs clearance or a rare certification, the recruiter will say so on the day the brief arrives.

Contract or permanent?

Both. We place fiber splicers on contract and permanent terms. On contract work, Riviot can act as employer of record or agent of record. The contract versus permanent tool shows where the crossover sits for your market.

What if the site needs a certification not listed here?

Put it in the brief. The recruiter shortlists against it, and it shows on each scorecard as declared until a reviewer has checked the document.

Do engineers travel between markets?

Many do. Engineers in the network travel between the six launch markets. Travel and lodging terms are agreed at brief stage. Say in the brief if you need someone local.
