Tested before they reach you.
Vio scores every engineer on six dimensions and a reviewer checks what they declare. Around one in ten applicants is admitted. This page shows how.
Three tiers.
What each tier means when it lands in a client's inbox.

The problem with CVs, certifications and interviews.
- A CV tells you where someone has been.
- A certification tells you what they passed.
- An interview tells you how they talk about work.
None of them tells you who will turn up on Monday, read your site protocols and hand over a pack your ops team can use. Delivery is a set of behaviours, and behaviours can be assessed. That is what Vio does.
The pipeline.
Six steps from application to a scored card, with typical timings.
Intake.
Register with a name, email, role and market. About two minutes.
Scenario evaluation.
Eight scenario questions drawn from real deployments. About ten minutes. Produces the indicative card.
Technical assessment.
Role-specific questions and practical items. About forty minutes, save and resume.
Evidence review.
Certifications and deployment history submitted with documents. Declared until checked.
Reviewer decision.
A Riviot reviewer with deployment experience checks the evidence and scores the six dimensions.
Scorecard.
Admit, Elite Admit or Conditional Admit. The card is issued and the engineer is matched.
Six assessed dimensions.
The vocabulary on every card, each defined in one sentence.
Technical depth.
What they know. Protocols, hardware, standards and the reasons behind them.
Execution.
What they have delivered. Deployments completed to plan, on live estates, to a documented standard.
Judgment.
What they do when the drawing is wrong. Stop, escalate, adapt, or push on, and knowing which.
Communication.
How they keep a programme informed. Handover packs, daily updates, plain English to non-engineers.
Reliability.
Whether they are where they said they would be. Attendance, access windows, shift discipline.
Range.
How far they can stretch when the brief moves. Adjacent skills, unfamiliar vendors, new site rules.
The admission rate.
Applicants admitted, measured on the platform each quarter. The figure and its sample size will be published with each quarterly report.
The rules we hold ourselves to.
- Declared means declared.
- Anything an engineer tells us is labelled that way until a reviewer checks it.
- Reviewer-approved means a reviewer approved it.
- We only say a credential is confirmed when the issuing body confirmed it.
- Indicative means indicative.
- The beta card is a first read, and it says so on the card.
- No ranking language toward engineers.
- The card shows a score and a tier. It describes the work and never labels the person.
Questions about vetting.
Is the assessment the same for every role?
The eight scenario questions are drawn from real deployments. The technical assessment is role-specific, with its own questions and practical items.
Who are the reviewers?
Riviot reviewers with deployment experience. They check the evidence an engineer submits and score the six dimensions.
Can an engineer be reassessed?
Yes. A Conditional Admit comes with a defined gap, an improvement plan and a reassessment date.
How is the admission rate calculated?
It is measured on the platform each quarter. The figure and its sample size will be published with each quarterly report.

What does a client see?
A masked scorecard: the tier, the six dimensions, certifications marked declared or reviewer-approved, the cover message and the score. The name appears only at introduction, with the engineer’s consent.
Does Vio use AI?
A Riviot reviewer checks the evidence, scores the six dimensions and makes every admission decision.
