Three network cabinets under an overhead ladder tray, each fed by a three-line cable drop into its roof.

On a deployment.

The installation engineer owns the physical layer of a network build. Cabinets, PDUs, patch panels, switches, transceivers, cable management and labelling, all to the elevation and to the site standard. They work ahead of or alongside the deployment engineer and are judged on tidiness, accuracy and speed.

On large estates this is repetitive work at scale, where the difference between a good engineer and an average one is the number of errors found at test.

What good looks like.

Preparation
Zero patching errors at test. Labels match the schedule exactly.
Judgment
Cable management that a photograph can be proud of and a future engineer can trace.
Handover
Reports material shortages and drawing errors on the day they are found.

Questions about this role.

How quickly can you shortlist a network installation engineer?

Shortlists typically arrive within two working days of a complete brief. You get two to five masked scorecards, each with a note from the recruiter. If the site needs clearance or a rare certification, the recruiter will say so on the day the brief arrives.

Contract or permanent?

Both. We place network installation engineers on contract and permanent terms. On contract work, Riviot can act as employer of record or agent of record. The contract versus permanent tool shows where the crossover sits for your market.

What if the site needs a certification not listed here?

Put it in the brief. The recruiter shortlists against it, and it shows on each scorecard as declared until a reviewer has checked the document.

Do engineers travel between markets?

Many do. Engineers in the network travel between the six launch markets. Travel and lodging terms are agreed at brief stage. Say in the brief if you need someone local.
